The Ranger R745 is a basic tire changer for entry-level tire and wheel service. It's ideal for performing rapid wheel service on most types of passenger wheels, as well as spare tires and trailer tires.
This model does NOT have the popular Jet Blast feature. All other Ranger models do.

You know what you need. And if what you need isn't that complicated, the Ranger R745 is the only tire changer you may ever put in your shop. Ideal for gas stations, roadside tire shops, small personal operations or as a backup for your more specialized tire machine. The swing-arm design lets you load tires fast, and the steel clamps are perfect for passenger cars, daily commuters, spares and trailer tires. The Ranger R745 is a rigid tower tire machine designed to handle the needs of heavy volume tire shops. A sturdy body, rigid 45mm hexagonal vertical shaft and hardened-steel horizontal outrigger support arm eliminate flex during all tire service procedures to reduce the chance of expensive wheels getting damaged.

A supersized turntable provides an internal clamping capacity of 21" and external clamping capacity of 18". With a long list of time-saving features and a powerful pneumatic optional assist helper, you’ll safely mount low-profile performance tires and wheels with little effort.

High-torque electric turntable

Featuring faster operating speeds and reverse-direction control for easier tire swaps, this tire changer reduces the risk of tire damage, especially for low-profile and run-flat beads that need time to relax.

Enhanced bead breaker blade

The R745 tire changers are fit with an advanced bead breaker blade. Its durable construction ensures better mechanical strength, as well as many years of dependable service life. A rubber bump stop ensures a smooth arm return, lessening shock loading and minimizing any wear on the pneumatic cylinder. Other moving parts are also kept safe by the bump stop.

Forged steel foot pedal levers

All Ranger tire changers feature 100% forged steel foot pedals. This design makes the foot pedals remarkably lightweight, durable and non-reactive with chemicals, liquids and other inadvertent environmental elements. As the most-exposed part of your tire changer, it was important to us that we find the best material for your shop. Many other brands use cast-iron pedals, which are heavy, susceptible to rust and require more maintenance over time.

Sealed tight

Protecting the internal workings of your tire changer is first and foremost in our minds, so there’s little to no component maintenance for you to worry about. Every main‐lead electrical terminal, auxiliary switch and motor enclosure is air‐tight, dust‐free and utterly safe from contamination.

High-pressure polyurethane pneumatic tubing

Our R745 tire changers come standard with high-pressure polyurethane pneumatic tubing that’s constructed with a smooth, seamless bore to improve flow. The tire changer’s tubing boasts a high abrasion resistance, as well as high burst tolerance and total kink resistance.

Specially engineered drive-belt

The convex sidewalls on the R745’s drive-belt evenly disperse wear. As a result, the tire changer itself lasts significantly longer in your shop due to the improved belt support. Flex‐bonded cords and flex‐weave covers keep away contaminants and pollutants, such as water and oil, as well as weather conditions that are out of your control.

Maintenance-free gearbox

Ranger is proud to offer tire changers so well-constructed, you never have to service their gearboxes. The R745 tire changer is no different. Like our other models, it features an impressive oil and grease tank, which releases heat and better lubricates the components. Internal baffles work in conjunction with a constant-seating stress flange gasket to provide low temperatures though superior venting and zero fluid leakage.

Aluminum pneumatic cylinders

To keep machine vibration and fiction levels low and extend the life of your tire changer, Ranger optimizes the stainless steel and aluminum pneumatic cylinders. Specifically, we’ve made sure internal end-of-stroke cushions come included on each cylinder, protecting the seals, wear band and piston rod. Each cylinder is continuously lubricated during use, further lengthening the life of your unit and strengthening our claim that Ranger makes the best tire changers in the world.

Alloy steel mount & demount head

The equi-dimensional shape of our mount and demount head lets you change tires without changing the position of the tool head. The tool head surface is manufactured micro-smooth, so mounting gliding tire beads into place is easy. Your tire changer is useless if it busts tires during routine operations, so our hardened alloy steel mount and demount head is specially designed to keep your tires safe at all times, even in the busiest shop environments.

All the extras come standard

We want you to have the means to clean, protect and maintain your tire changer without having to spend extra or go out of your way. A soap bucket and brush comes standard, along with turntable jaw covers, bead‐breaker blade boots and mount / demount head covers. Everything can be stored right in the tire changer itself, so you’re not losing things, searching around the shop and ordering extras of what you think you’ve lost. To keep you swapping tires with the best of them, a steel tire iron and bead lever tool comes included with your purchase. You’ll find it is an indispensable tool that every tire changer operator should be familiar with and capable of using during mount and demount procedures.

45mm spring assist hexagonal vertical tool shaft

A rigid 45 mm spring assist hexagonal vertical tool shaft and hardened‐steel horizontal outrigger support arm keep the mount-demount tool head perfectly still during operations. This all but ensures you won’t damage expensive wheels due to a loose or shifting tool head. The tire changer is fitted with linear guide bearings that make it easy to adjust both the vertical and horizontal wheel settings. These guide bearings are completely maintenance-free for the entire lifespan of your tire changer. The non‐flex horizontal arm boasts a hardened lower roller guide for controlled, balanced movements.

Tire inflator features

A pistol-type tire inflator with a sure‐grip clip‐on valve chuck has never been easier to operate and permits full-function, hands‐free operation.

The DST30P accurately and efficiently calibrates wheel and tire configurations. Like the DST-2420 wheel balancer, the DST30P handles wheels up to a 30” diameter. It also contains many of the same working components as the DST-2420 but with one exception: we took the 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder from the DST-64T and built it into this smaller unit for minimal yet incredibly precise wheel weight placements.

Direct-Drive
The Direct-Axis drive system helps keep the DST30P running smoothly over time. A single belt connects the motor and unbalance sensor, eliminating most maintenance costs during your wheel balancer's many years of service.

Highly Precise Digital Sensor Technology
The DST30P doubles the potential placement for wheel weights while maintaining a space-conscious and highly cost-effective shop solution. Dynamic, static and ALU balancing modes are standard on each unit, featuring dual plane calibration for all OEM configurations and performance wheels.

Ranger's proprietary Digital Sensor Technology offers a 16-digit digital sensor processor and single-chip technology for better speed and accuracy in your readings. OEM and performance wheels require this sort of sophisticated technology for proper balancing, so be sure any wheel balancer you choose is fully capable of servicing these specialized wheel types.

Single-chip circuit board architecture upgrades performance and reliability over multi-chip installations, (e.g., latency reductions, substantial boost in device throughput). A speedy, dedicated hyper transport protocol lets data communicate with the micro-processor much faster than would otherwise be possible. Single-chip boards also use less power and better dissipate heat.

Multi-Directional Quartz Piezoelectric Load Sensors
Dual-component piezoelectric quartz load sensors and digital rotation encoder measure longitudinal, transversal and shear effects for multi-directional force unbalance detection. The piezoelectric force sensors are the most sensitive sensors we have ever made, offering superior stability and fatigue resistance for unlimited service life with your wheel balancer. High-rigidity quartz crystal sensors offer high frequency detection in all three measured directions.

Quick and Precise Setup
A diverse arrangement of hardened-steel mounting cones lets you work with virtually all wheel types, including most light trucks and SUVs. A rubber “quick-nut” bell adapter, with a non-marring rear cone mount pressure cup, holds mounted wheels securely in place and is sure not to damage tires or wheels during balancing procedures.

Mounting Cone Package
The DST30P wheel balancer tooling package includes car and light truck cones, as well as a heavy-duty truck cone. This package includes three "smaller" cones: 1.75" - 2.75", 2.75" - 3.50" and 3.50" - 4.25", as well as one truck cone 4.50" - 5.00". Once an optional accessory, the 4.5" - 5.00" truck cone package is now standard.

An even larger double-sided centering Truck Cone Kit that fits hub sizes 4.75" - 6.75" is sold separately, but also fits the DST30P.

64-Tooth Encoder Improves Automatic Weight Optimization
The weight calculations on the DST30P wheel balancer are more accurate than the DST-2420 - twice as accurate, in fact! We've taken something great and made it even greater, now balancing your tire and wheel configurations with the most precise placements possible. The 64-tooth magnetic transducer encoder offers more precise placement readouts by making it easier to achieve maximum profile and top-dead-center positioning. This means you use less weight while you save more time, increasing your bottom line.

Full-Tilt Display Panel
We've taken the touch-pad display panel on the DST-2420 wheel balancer and raised it up, tower-style, for the DST30P. This design improvement offers more flexibility in how you work. The extended, fully adjustable display avoids the problem of glare that can shroud readouts on the screen, and it ensures differently abled operators will enjoy a more ergonomic experience as they calibrate tire and wheel configurations.

LED Rolling Wheel Weight Displays
Highly visible LED displays show you exactly where to place the weights in seconds flat. These LED indicators let you see weight positions when the mounted wheel is rolled top-dead-center. As mentioned, the DST30P features an improved encoder wheel over the DST-2420, which means the LED display on the DST30P is more sensitive and more accurate than ever before.

Wheel Weight Starter Kit
When you buy any one of Ranger's wheel balancers, you get a starter set of wheel weights included with your purchase. The kit has one bulk roll of 100 silver adhesive steel tape weights and 100 black adhesive steel tape weights. We also include one starter box of mixed clip-on steel weights. Of course, additional weights can be purchased in these bulk packages at your convenience.

Our Stick-On Steel Wheel Weights offer the best overall fit, as well as the most reliable and cost-effective choice. Our .25 oz. wheel weights are perfectly sized and weighted for most wheel balancing applications, and when paired with a Ranger wheel balancer, you'll never use more weight than necessary for the job.
